We’ve moved, but wine tourists we remain!

Yup, that’s right, we’ve moved! We’re in Los Angeles for now, but we're planning to settle down in Napa or Sonoma where I would like to find work in a winery as a winemaker. This area has been a favorite region of mine for a long time now and is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places in the world-even though it gets lots of criticism in Hungary for its lax rules and regulations and how the wines are manipulated, etc. I hope I’ll be able to set the record straight soon with some real insider information. …

One thing’s for sure, this is the land of the free, and granted the rules are laxer than they are in Europe, but self-regulation also works here…and better. If you want to make a really good quality wine, it’s all up to you. The only limits are your expectations. That’s how it works here.

So, why is it better to be a wine tourist in the U.S.? The wine choices you have in stores are so vast, I would go as far as to say they are absolutely heavenly. You can find wines from all the major wine regions and taste varieties you can’t find easily anywhere else. Ironic, but I have more opportunities to drink European wine in America than I did in Europe both because of the availability here and because my paycheck better allows me to. The choices here are truly extraordinary. It will also be a lot easier for us to travel now, so expect lots more articles, and I promise you, you’ll be hearing from us a lot more in the future!
