Golden yellow in color, beautifully clear, the fact this wine is from volcanic basalt soil is undeniable at first whiff. Very Tokaji in style, the sugar is obvious in both the nose and mouth. Its basalt character nicely compensates for the low acidity typical of this area, but I still felt the wine lacked the acidity it needed to balance out the sugar. Firm bouquet with light aromas of honey, linden tree blossoms and peach. Immediately, I find myself craving roasted duck with peach preserves. It has nice, medium-body that covers the palette. Pleasantly long finish with mineral notes re-confirming themselves again in the end.
